Edge Exotics XLD Driver
Lightweight, sleek and strikingly distinctive: every
last detail of the XLD exudes uncompromising power that reflects the
Exotics name.
The XLD's stealth-like geometric shape moves the head's center of
gravity deeper and lower, generating an extremely high MOI. The Exotics
XLD Driver's unique pentagon shape moves more weight to the three
corners deep in the head for the unprecedented Moment Of Inertia (MOI).
A contributing factor to the XLD's performance is a
laser-welded beta titanium face. The face is computer-milled and
features varying face thickness from 2.8mm on the outer edges to 3.3mm
in the center for explosive power. The distance generated by the XLD is
nothing short of electrifying.
Designed for the ultimate driving experience, in-depth research went
into decreasing the XLD's overall weight. This led to extensive study
on reducing wall and crown thickness and created one of the lightest
drivers on the market. A new waxing process minimizes the thickness and
weight of the titanium crown and allows more mass to be shifted to the
rear corners of the head. With the Tour Edge Exotics XLD, overall
weight is kept to a minimum. One of the lightest drivers ever designed,
the XLD weighs in at only 295 grams and releases enormous club speed to
produce dramatic distance gains.
The 46" extremely-light, 50-gram shaft makes the Exotics XLD a
super-long and super-light distance machine. Manufactured by Graphite
Design, this X-Quad shaft reduces ovaling to keep your shots on target
and in the fairway.

XCG Exotics Driver
Driver technology beyond anything you've ever experienced.
A crowning achievement, featuring 3-piece construction
that includes titanium cup face technology and the very first magnesium
crown construction
Magnesium Crown:
- The first-of-its-kind Magnesium crown and neck is 2
times lighter than its titanium counterpart. This saves substantial
weight which is moved low to the heavier steel body and sole
- The Magnesium crown is a soft responsive metal alloy
adding to the solid feel and pure titanium sound of the XCG
- Providing superb feedback at impact, Magnesium is a
soft metal with an HRB softness rating comparable to a forged iron on
the Rockwell Hardness Scale
- Even lighter than carbon, the Magnesium crown also
eliminates the harsh feel and unpleasant sound associated with carbon
crown drivers. In fact, the dampening characteristics of Magnesium
greatly enhance the driver's feel.
Stainless Steel Body & Sole:
- The ultralight Magnesium crown shifts a significant
amount of weight so the body and sole can be made of steel
- The heavier steel body positions more weight low and
back in the head, creating an extreme CG position deep in the head and
increasing the driver's MOI.
- The XCG's weight distribution produces higher flying
shots with less spin
- The steel sole provides more power at impact from a
lower position, creating an explosive launch and a solid sound on
contact.
Titanium Cup Face:
- The XCG utilizes the same large titanium cupped face
technology that made the fairway woods famous, delivering faster ball
speeds off the face and long-flying drives.
- The lightweight cup face moves weight back into the
heavy steel body, lowering the spin rate and creating a higher launch
angle.
- Utilizing VFT technology, the cup face is thinner
around the perimeter and thicker in the center for a higher COR on
off-center hits and remarkable forgiveness from all points on the face.
- Tour Edge's proprietary weld-free combo-bonding
process eliminates additional weight that is moved to the heavy steel
body. The result is extreme center of gravity position that is not
possible with traditional welding
Shaft Technology:
- Graphite Design X-Quad - features 4-way interweave
technology that reduces ovaling, keeping the club square at impact.
- UST ProForce V2 65 - The firm tip section produces a
medium launch condition and incresed ball speed
- Aldila DVS 65 - The DVS features an innovative, new
responsive tip design for extra kick at impact with an optimum launch

Tour Edge Exotics Proto
Driver
Out of the Tour Edge's advanced
Exotics engineering platform comes an inspired driver destined for the
tour. A combination of technologically superior components, the Exotics
Proto is aimed at Tour Edge's most demanding client - the professional
golfer.
The exceptionally powerful Proto delivers absolutely
blistering performance on all fronts: shot control, distance, and feel.
Inspired by the desires of the world's best players, the Tour Proto
utilizes the current Exotics platform of a combo-brazed 15-3-3-3 Beta
Ti crown and a laser-bonded SP700 titanium face on a 6A4V body. The
unique characteristic of the Proto is its heavier, tour-weighted head
and 2° open face angle. Favored by the better player, the open face
and
heavier head weight deliver superior workability and feel.
Particular attention was lavished on visibly apparent
bulge
and roll to offer players a significant leap in performance. The
driver's 10º of bulge and 10º of roll delivers the workability
and feel needed for advanced shot-shaping control.
The Exotics Tour Proto benefits from the commanding Aldila VS
Proto
graphite shaft. This exclusive, high-end shaft is a proven tour-winning
favorite that speaks for itself. The shaft's next generation Micro
Laminate Technology carbon nano-tube, combined with Aldila's
proprietary A65 performance resin system, delivers unparalleled
performance and feel.
The
Proto hails the arrival of a whole new generation of professional level
golf equipment perfected for the best players in the world!
PROTO HEAD CONSTRUCTION
An
engineering wonder, the Exotics' paper-thin, ultra light, 15-gram crown
is only 0.4mm thick. Constructed from 15-3-3-3 Beta Titanium, this
formidable technology allows more weight to be placed in the sole for
remarkable forgiveness and a perfect launch angle. The crown is
attached through Exotics' revolutionary Combo-Brazing process. The
elimination of welding results in a deeper, lower center of gravity
(c.g.) for unprecedented performance and a smooth, velvety feel.
Painstaking care was taken over the face technology. The
uncompromising, forged titanium face puts out a staggering amount of
power. Utilizing unheard of manufacturing tolerances, there is less
than a 0.4mm opening between the face and body frame. This allows the
face to be inserted and robotically laser bonded. Laser bonding
eliminates weld material associated with traditional and plasma welding
resulting in significantly improved rebound characteristics.
OPTIMAL C.G. ANGLE
Each
Exotics driver features 2 precision-crafted, strategically positioned,
6-gram tungsten screws. The placement of the fixed screws strikes the
perfect balance between forgiveness and power. The proper positioning
of weight is crucial in creating the optimal c.g. angle. This angle
creates a higher moment of inertia and a more potent energy transfer,
especially on off-center hits.

Through a revolutionary process, the two dissimilar
metals, titanium and steel, are blended together by a proprietary
chemical bonding process called combo-brazing. This proprietary
chemical process is patented worldwide. It starts with a cold-rolled
titanium cup face that is computer-milled around the edge of the cup
with a high precision rim. The remaining body is precision cast to
include an interlocking channel. The parts are chemically treated,
pressed together, and vacuum heat-cured for permanent bonding without
heavy welding. The intrinsic quality of the process is unparalleled,
resulting in a lower center pf gravity, greater spring off the face,
unheard of feel, and a pure energy transfer that's not possible from a
traditional welded club head.
